How do I stop doing coke?

Sunday, January 6th, 2013

“Hiya Chris! It’s Chris from Saturday. I just wanted to say thanks again, results are brilliant, I can’t believe it – cravings are gone!” This was the text message I received this evening.

Now, ask yourself this: if cravings were really ‘the body needing cocaine’, how could they be gone after a single two-hour session of hypnotherapy? The answer is that they could not. Either the body needs cocaine or it doesn’t – so if it doesn’t need it after the session, we have to question whether it ever needed it before the session or whether cravings are actually something else. This is how I discovered what they really are, and how to shut them down.

Cravings are strong, insistent feelings produced in the body by the brain. Through regular repetition, the cocaine use accidentally becomes a compulsive habit and the craving is the ‘compulsive’ bit. Hypnosis is simply a way to get information to the part of the brain that controls this: the Subconscious. Both habit and cravings can be stopped on request, but hypnotherapy is the ONLY way to do that with immediate effect.

Hypnotherapy can shut down cravings for cocaine, ketamine, cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, chocolate or any kind of food, and I’ve done this for thousands of individuals with hypnosis over the years to stop all those habits. All I need from the client is a genuine wish to be rid of the problem, which Chris certainly had… but he also had some doubts. Not about wanting to quit, but about hypnotherapy. Before making the appointment, he had been looking at some really expensive options for tackling his cocaine habit, and he couldn’t quite understand why they were charging hundreds of pounds, and I wasn’t!

“You say you can shut this down in one session – most of them aren’t saying that – but they’re charging far more than you! If you can really do that, why aren’t you charging more than them and really cleaning up?” (He’s a businessman himself, you see!)

So I explained. How many people with a coke habit can put their hands on hundreds of pounds in cash? A few can, but most of them can’t, so if I charged top dollar I’d only be able to help rich cokeheads. What about all the other users? Also, I don’t think anyone should be charging hundreds of pounds. They should be helping hundreds of users, that’s the win-win situation, isn’t it?

Also, I was a drug user myself for many years. I have genuine concern and respect for people in that situation, so I want to make sure they can ALL afford to come to Central Hypnotherapy, and get the best help there is!

Call 0161-474-8120 for more info, or call/text anytime to 07748 838 644. It’s okay if you have mixed feelings about quitting, by the way. that’s normal, that’s why it takes two hours – everyone’s a little different!

Help With a Drinking Problem

Monday, December 3rd, 2012

“How can I stop drinking too much?”

Hypnotherapy is the quickest and easiest way to get out of difficulty with alcohol. Cravings for alcohol can be shut down with hypnosis and the habit either halted completely or changed. There is no other way to do this in a single event, it can only be done by an expert in a hypnotherapy session. Stopping altogether is one option, cutting out the excess is another and taking a break from alcohol is also a popular choice, after which we re-introduce it without the excess. Some people require another session later to maintain their success, some do not.

Some people do want to stop drinking completely. Not everyone does. This way, you have a choice.

Does that sound all right for you? Just call me (Chris) on 0161-474-8120 during office hours or text/call any time, any day on 07748 838 644.

Going For Gold!

Tuesday, August 28th, 2012

London 2012 has, most British people would agree, been pretty inspiring! Team GB surpassed expectations and won a very respectable clutch of medals – and I bet they did it entirely without hypnotherapy!

Which makes me wonder how many more we could have won.

Winning is all about belief. Training and hard work might win you a place in an Olympic team, but being the best in the world – and proving it when it really counts, when the pressure is on, when you only have one chance – that is about self-belief, and there’s nothing quite like hypnosis for creating unshakeable self-belief and determination.

Maybe a few people don’t need it: Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah, Usain Bolt… but what about everyone else?

Life is a competition. Could YOU use unshakeable self-belief and determination?

The Dull Predictability of The Drug Habit

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

More and more people are coming to Central Hypnotherapy to get rid of their cocaine habit, or their drinking habit, or ketamine, cannabis or crack habit. I specialise in these issues, and word gets around.

Not everyone wants to stop using, obviously. And it is not my business to persuade them.

But there comes a point in any drug habit when there is no longer much pleasure in it at all, and it is really just mindless repetition of what you always do. It becomes dull, unrewarding, expensive, exhausting and not much fun at all. Most users, at that point, would rather be a non-user, especially if there was an easy way to change it.

There is. But this brings me to a couple of common myths about hypnotherapy, which I would like to dispel here and now:

1) “You have to believe in hypnosis for it to work.” RUBBISH! Most of my clients are astonished to find that it works.

2) “If you’ve had hypnotherapy before, it won’t work again.” RUBBISH! Relapses are easy to fix.

3) “You’ve got to really want to quit, or it won’t work.” WHO MAKES THIS STUFF UP? It is quite normal to have mixed feelings about quitting smoking, drinking or any drug. As long as you have NO SERIOUS OBJECTION to being free of the habit after the session, that’s enough. You can leave the rest to me.

How Do You Go To Sleep?

Wednesday, August 8th, 2012

If you ask anyone: “How do you go to sleep?” they will probably tell you the things they do before they go to sleep.

“Oh, I switch everything off, check the doors are locked, get ready for bed, clean my teeth, climb into bed and read for a bit… then I go to sleep.”

Yes, but HOW? How do you actually do that?

“I, er… I don’t know. I just lie there for a bit, until I drift off.”

Or as one client put it: “I sort of pretend to be asleep until I am”!

All well and good, so long as that happens. But what do you do if it doesn’t? If you go to your doctor with sleep problems, they’ll give you pills. But the problem with that is, either they don’t work, in which case they’re useless, or they do work, in which case how do you ever get off them? Most people don’t want to take pills for insomnia the rest of their lives, they want to be normal.

Hypnotherapy is the natural solution because there is a link between the sleep cycle and the Subconscious mind. Over the last decade I have helped many people to get back to a regular sleep cycle with the help of hypnosis and it usually only takes one session.

How do I stop eating chocolate?

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

“How can I stop eating chocolate?” Here’s Jane’s reply to that!

Hi Chris,
Hope you are well?

I think I may have generated some more business for you! I was in a cafe in Lymm on Saturday and was talking to the owner (not sure of her name) about you and how I hadn’t eaten chocolate for 6-weeks etc. She was fascinated (as were all the other staff members) about what I was saying. She took down your details and said she would contact you this week. I remember her saying one of her weaknesses was wine.

Being Easter I decided to buy myself an Easter egg. I ate half, thoroughly enjoyed it, put the other half in the fridge for another evening. As I lay in bed that night thinking about the other half of the egg in the fridge, I thought I don’t actually want it, I enjoyed what I ate but I really don’t want any more so I brought the remainder into work for my colleague. Now, previously I would have eaten the whole egg in one sitting!!

I am not due to weigh myself until a week on Saturday (only weigh myself once a month) so I don’t know how much more weight I have lost but can definitely feel that I have.

Also, Carol and Fallon loved you, thought you were absolutely brilliant. They too are getting on great and losing weight.

Kind regards
Jane

Three out of three – that just shows the consistency of the Central Hypnotherapy method, and hypnotherapist Chris Holmes’ expertise and experience in this area.

“No cravings, no withdrawals, no over-eating…”

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

This is what we aim for every time: no cravings, no withdrawal, no over-eating or weight gain. As standard.

“Hi Chris

You said to give you feedback and to let you know how I was getting on… It has been 4 days and 6 hours since my last cigarette! For the first few of days at every trigger point I thought about it – when I left your office, walking down the stairs I thought about it – the main thing I suppose is I don’t want one, the thought is more I would of/could of/ had a cigarette then/now. But I’ve no cravings, no withdrawals, no over eating and as far as I am aware no further habits forming in its place. And with each day the number of times I’ve thought about it are reducing.

Charlotte”

There is a world of difference between thinking about smoking – which I naturally do every day, I’m a therapist specialising in the subject – and wanting to smoke or feeling tempted to smoke. Hypnotherapy doesn’t stop you thinking, it stops you wanting one because it shuts down the cravings and the habit simultaneously. The Central Hypnotherapy method also ensures that there is no weight gain and – as Charlotte confirms – no new habits replacing the smoking one. No other therapy can do that in a single session – only hypnotherapy.

If you would like to be smoke-free like Charlotte, why not call me (Chris) on:
Office: 0161-474-8120 Monday-Friday 8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., or call/text 07748 838 644 any day, any time.

Hypnosis to stop drinking alcohol

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012

Hypnotherapy is the easiest way to stop boozing, as Carole found out seven months ago. This was her feedback from yesterday:

“Hi Chris, I’ve been meaning to contact you again for a while to give you a quick update… You may remember that I came to see you at the end of July for help as I wanted to stop drinking. It doesn’t seem that long since I came to see you but I have just realised that I actually haven’t had a drink for almost seven months, a world record for me! I had my first dry Christmas in many a year, nothing, not even a chocolate liquer, and I didn’t want it or miss it. Did a lot of driving though!

“I feel so much better, lost more weight, back at the gym, generally feeling more positive. I can’t describe how pleased I have been with the results of my hypnotherapy and also how easy it has been. When I came to see you I told you that I wanted to completely cut out alcohol for now but might want to drink again the future, family celebrations etc. At the moment I don’t think I will ever another alcoholic drink again, simply no desire to do so!

“Coming to see you was the best thing that I have ever done for myself.

Best wishes

Carole”

So before adding this message to the website, I contacted Carole to congratulate her and check it was okay to use her message as a testimonial, as I always do. She replied:

“Hi Chris

Yes, no problem. Can’t believe seven months has passed. I guess that must be a marker of success, that I am no longer counting days but now take as a given that I don’t drink!

Have a good day.

Carole”

Now, not all my clients want to stop drinking completely, but just cut down. We can do that too, but Carole’s story also proves that we can use hypnotherapy to stop drinking altogether, often in just one session, without the need for willpower. Would YOU like to be that successful in changing your drinking habit? Then call me on:

Anxieties and Phobias Cured at Central Hypnotherapy!

Thursday, February 9th, 2012

This came in by email on the 7th of February:

“Dear Chris,

I came to you for a session of hypnotherapy to help with performance anxiety before singing a solo at a Xmas church service; it was extremely helpful, so thank you for that.

More thanks are owed to you: I am a physio, and last week I treated a young woman who has many anxiety problems, so I recommended you. She was rather resistant to the idea as in the past she’d had several sessions of hypnotherapy which had not been helpful.

At work today I had an email from her saying that the session she had with you was incredibly helpful – I think the phrase she used was that she was “a thousand times” improved!

So thank you once again,
Best wishes, Wendy”

This is why it never worries me if a client tells me that they’ve “tried hypnotherapy before” but they didn’t get the results they wanted. If you took your car to a garage to be mended and there was still a problem, would you assume that “mechanics can’t fix cars”? NO! You just find yourself a better mechanic, and it’s the same with doctors, dentists, builders and… hypnotherapists!

If you want to get rid of a fear, anxiety, panic attacks or phobias, come to Central Hypnotherapy. Notice that both those successes were achieved with just one hypnosis session. So why not call now, before you forget? Office: 0161-474 8120 (Office Hours) Mobile: 07748 838 644 (any time, including evenings & weekends) If I’m not free just leave contact details, I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

“I’ve tried the Gum, I’ve tried the Patches…”

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012

Most smokers who have attempted to stop smoking before will have tried some form of Nicotine Replacement (NRT) – or several different forms of it – and after telling me this, my smoking clients will usually go on to say: “…and I’ve failed every time!”

Notice how they do not conclude: “…and it doesn’t work at all!” They nearly always say: “I’ve failed.”

Let me explain why they are wrong. The latest research from Harvard University in the USA published January 2012, concluded that:

“NRT is no more effective in helping people stop smoking cigarettes in the long-term than trying to quit on one’s own”.

This means that the products do nothing useful in the long run, they just waste your time. If smokers knew that, would they bother with them at all? Smokers are not “failing”, they have simply been misled. They were told that NRT would help, when in fact it does not. The manufacturer was also careful to put the words: “Requires Willpower” on the adverts and the packaging, so that the smoker is likely to assume, when it doesn’t work, that the fault was their own because they ‘lack willpower’. Smokers are more than ready to believe that about themselves, aren’t they? So you are set up to blame yourself for the failure of the method before you even try it! Sneaky, eh?

Hypnotherapy is the most effective method of the various ways of quitting tobacco available to smokers, according to the largest ever scientific study of the subject, carried out by the University of Iowa in 1992. All you have to do is book in, and turn up for the session – you can leave the rest to me. No weight-gain, and no willpower required! Call me (Chris) on Office: 0161-474 8120 (Office Hours) Mobile: 07748 838 644 (any time, including evenings & weekends)
