Bejeweled Blitz

Posted: Monday, August 12, 2013

Addiction can be a terrible, terrible thing.  Some people are addicted to heroin.  Some people are addicted to crack cocaine.  And about 25 million people are addicted to playing Bejeweled Blitz.

I know.  It's a tragedy!  Kids are growing up without their parents, lives are wasted away - but all is not lost.  Help is available: hypnotherapy can give you back your life.

Mandy was just such a tragic case.  Like millions of others, she didn't know that hypnosis can rescue you from the helpless mess the Bejeweled Blitz addict can become: burning the dinner, forgetting to pick the kids up from school, lying about where you've been all this time.  In fact, Mandy came to Central Hypnotherapy to cut down on her alcohol intake, and just happened to mention that she was caught in another vice as well: the Bejeweled Blitz trap.  She was wasting hours, she said, obsessed with the pointless challenge of matching up as many gems as possible in 60 seconds.  But she was afraid to stop altogether!  She couldn't imagine life without her gem fix!  She just didn't want to spend all afternoon doing it, that was all.

I fought back tears as I explained that, contrary to what they tell you down at Bejeweled Blitz Addicts Anonymous, you don't have to quit altogether - and it would be the same with the alcohol, too!  With hypnotherapy, we can just cut back!  No need to suffer, and no need to do without.  So we went ahead and did the session.

All joking aside, this was Mandy's feedback on the session:

Hi Chris.  Thought I would give you some feedback following our session.  I asked if I could cut back to just one glass of wine on an evening, and just one glass I have had!  I've thoroughly enjoyed that one glass like a connassieur (ignore spelling!).  I said that I wanted to go to bed earlier and wake up bright and early - well I was in bed before 11 pm on Wednesday and before 10.30 last night... I was up before 5.30 this morning!

I said that I didn't want to spend quite so much time playing Bejeweled Blitz - I've probably played it for less than 5 minutes in total over the last few days!  I'm enjoying a nice early morning cuppa, then I'm going to do a bit of work until it gets light, then take the dogs round the reservoirs.  Happy bunny!

Thanks for your help.  Mandy.

Of course, Mandy is not her real name.  Her real name is... just kidding!  Obviously I want to protect all my clients from the stigma surrounding Bejeweled Blitz - but the facts of this case are all true.  How does hypnotherapy deliver these changes?  Simple: all routine habitual behaviour is controlled by the Subconscious mind, which is why conscious decisions and conscious efforts to change it usually have little effect.  Hypnotherapy is a way of communicating with the Subconscious mind, and if we ask nicely, the Subconscious is happy to change anything you like as long as there is a point to it, an advantage.  So I just explained the advantages of the changes to Mandy's Subconscious mind, and it did the rest.

Is there anything you would like to change?  Call me (Chris) on 0161-474-8120 Office Hours or call/text 07748 838 644 anytime, any day - feel free to call evenings/weekends, you are not disturbing me.  I'll be glad to help!
