Afraid of dogs!

Posted: Friday, June 13, 2014

The doorbell rang, today, but I wasn't expecting anyone.  Turned out to be a young lady I saw a few weeks back, but I didn't recall at first - I see so many people - she came twice, she said: a fear of dogs?

"If you remember, I couldn't go out?  Even to the shops?"

Oh, now I remember.  Terrified of dogs!  A prisoner in her own home, in fact.  Pretty bad phobia.

"Well, I just came to give you this!"

It was a card.  A Thank You card.

"I just wanted to give you this because you've changed my life!  I can go anywhere now!  And... I've got a job!"

So that was nice.  It said inside; "Thank you for everything you really helped change my life I can't thank you enough", which is the great thing about hypnotherapy because it's the quickest way to change anything and it really does change people's lives.  So now she's okay with dogs, and she is no longer stuck in at home, and she's gone and got a job which she could never do before, so.... she's got her life back!

Hang on, I said to her: you came twice?  What happened after the first session?

"Nothing.  Still afraid, it didn't change at all.  So I came back and had another session, and afterwards I just felt nervous for a day or two, and then it went away!"

Now, this is interesting, because a lot of people assume that if hypnosis does not produce change immediately, then it is not going to.  Not true!  I always AIM to change things with immediate effect, and very often that's what happens but occasionally there's a delay in responding - rarely, with phobic reactions, which is why I was surprised, but it can happen.  As this case shows, though, that does not mean the Subconscious mind isn't going to change it.  It may just need a bit more persuading.

Those two sessions have changed this young lady's life.  Well worth it, eh?

So if you have a problem with dogs - or cats! or any anxiety or fear you'd like to get rid of - just give me (Chris) a ring on 0161-474-8120 office hours or call/text 07748 838 644 any time, any day and I'll do my very best to change your life as well!
