If you're vaping happily these days, convinced that you have "stopped smoking", so you're "safe"... you won't want to hear this. But I'm old enough to remember the days when everybody thought that smoking tobacco was perfectly normal, just an innocent pleasure! Especially if they were filter-tipped, or lower in tar or nicotine, which some brands used as a selling-point.
Nowadays, no-one regards a fliter-tipped cigarette as "safe". So will there come a day when no-one regards vaping as "safe" either? I suspect there will, and I'm not the only one concerned. Recent reports of increasing injuries and deaths from vaping are surely just the tip of the iceberg, because vaping has been popular for less than a decade and yet the problems are showing up already.
ROBERT H SHMERLING M.D. HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL HEALTH BLOG 4/9/19:
"These cases of severe lung disease among people who vape raise important questions about the safety of vaping. Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that lung problems might develop in people who vape: our lungs were meant to inhale clean air and nothing else. It took many years to recognise the damage cigarettes can cause. We could be on a similar path with vaping."
"COULD BE?" We almost certainly are, and to ignore the early signs of it after we were all so spectacularly wrong about tobacco could be suicidal folly for an awful lot of people. Just to give you some idea, since 1969, when the link between tobacco and lung cancer was first proven... and a LOT of people scoffed at the idea before that, and even for quite a long time after it... an estimated 250,000,000 smokers around the world have been killed by tobacco. Out of concern for that, millions of people have switched to vaping now and even the NHS has rather rashly declared it "safer" than smoking, but one nurse who came to see me recently for hypnotherapy to stop smoking told me that she would never try vaping because so many people were now showing up at the hospital with breathing problems apparently linked to vaping.
Don't risk it. Whether you're currently a smoker or a vaper, just one hypnosis session will shut the habit down with no need for willpower and no weight gain. more about this
