"Morning Chris, first of all I would like to thank you for helping me with my gambling problems. I am extremely pleased to say that the last two weeks have been bliss, without any such temptations. I am now ready to take my next step and quit smoking. Dave" 15.02.21
What do we mean by "temptations"? Well, they're feelings, of course. "I feel like having a bet", or a cigarette, or a drink, or a chocolate bar. But the urge to eat chocolate doesn't come from the chocolate, it comes from within. It comes from the mind itself; but we know it's not the conscious mind doing that, because it is the conscious mind fighting against it with willpower (conscious effort) and sensible decisions... decisions which the almighty Subconscious mind knows nothing about! The impulse to repeat the habitual behaviour comes from the Subconscious, and the Subconscious can shut it down on request.
Hypnotherapy is the only way to get detailed information to the Subconscious mind, so we can get the gambling habit and the cravings shut down completely. Result: no desire to gamble. Freedom! more about this
Dave asked me to add these words:
"Since first starting gambling at the age of 16, I have continually gambled (pretty much where possible, every day of my life), at times and quite frequently all of my wages inclusing bill and food money.
"Bookmakers, online slots and scratchcards were my main habitual desires. At the age of 41, I've come to realise that I can no longer live this way. That's when I found Chris. Having completed one hypnosis session with him, I am over the moon that I can now walk into a shop not thinking of, or being tempted by any form of gambling and I have been clean for getting on for nearly three weeks. This is massive to me.
"I've now booked in for a quit smoking session. My only regret is that I didn't stumble across Chris at the age of 16."
Would Dave have chosen to have hypnotherapy for gambling at the age of 16? Maybe, but I doubt it. In the early stages of a gambling habit, it often doesn't really seem like anything is wrong. Even if he had, would he have responded in the same way as he did at the age of 41, after so much loss, disruption and suffering? Possibly. Young people can respond just as well to the hypnotherapy process as anyone else. But when it comes to vices, and nuisance habits, the damage to quality of life is cumulative, and after 25 years of that kind of trouble in his life, Dave really was ready for this change. He just couldn't do it himself.
