"Hi Chris, it's Ed, was just letting you know since the hypnotherapy I have been able to move back to Liverpool and I am much calmer and happier. I think I am still coming to terms with it all because I do get some nervous thoughts, but none of the panic or physical effects I used to, which is weird getting used to, I guess." 17/10/21
Emotional traumas disturb the human mind on both levels: conscious and Subconscious. The conscious mind is analytical: it can rationalise and think things through. Work things out for itself. Come to terms.
The Subconscious just REACTS. And because the body and the Subconscious mind are completely interconnected, when the Subconscious mind reacts, you're going to feel it in the body: anxiety, panic, palpitations, dread, tears, sobs, altered breathing patterns and even changes to vocal sounds. Agitation. Fear.
After the hypnosis session, notice how Ed reports that he still had troubled thoughts, but all the fear and physical reactions were gone. In other words, the conscious mind was still processing the matter, and was obviously a bit confused as to where all those disturbing physical feelings have gone: "...which is weird getting used to, I guess."
Now it's not unusual for the rational conscious mind to be still puzzling over the sudden disappearance of the anxiety and panic up to a month or so after the hypnotherapy session, as it is here - especially if those emotional reactions had been dominating for a long time. It half expects them to come back... but they won't. And it won't be long before the conscious mind DOES get used to the fact that they really have gone, and just get on with enjoying the freedom that it brings - which is usually long overdue! more about this
