Some chocoholics think that they are literally addicted to chocolate - or addicted to sugar - and that's because they cannot seem to stop eating it. Some things look or feel like an addiction, that's all: I used to bite my fingernails all the time. I couldn't stop doing that, but I wasn't addicted, it was a compulsive habit just like smoking, drinking and - yes, the habitual consumption of chocolate!
All these habits can be shut down in a single hypnosis session here at Central Hypnotherapy, and it really doesn't matter how long the habit has persisted, or how excesssive it is: the solution is the same.
A habit is the automatic repetition of an established behaviour or response, controlled by the Subconscious mind. The 'compulsive' bit is the urge that prompts you to do it again and again. This is the craving system in operation, and the Subconscious mind directs quite a lot of our behaviour via cravings: feelings that are generated in the body that make you 'feel like' you want something. These signals are always experienced as a need or a desire, but they are actually prompting signals, directing you to repeat the usual behaviour, or to try to get some pleasure from something. What the Subconscious mind does not know, yet, is that chocolate is bad for your health or fattening. Only your conscious mind knows that. And your conscious mind cannot tell your Subconscious mind anything in detail - so that's where I come in!
Once I've explained the true situation to your Subconscious mind it will stop sending you irritating reminder signals to buy or eat chocolate, and then you are free! We also make sure you don't feel like you're missing anything. This process takes about two hours altogether, and if you want to lose weight as well, there are a number of ways I can get that going for you during the same session, so... what are you waiting for? more about this
